Singer, songwriter, rapper and voice over artiste, Favour Ugochi Anosike, popularly known as Ugoccie has unveiled her sophomore Extended Play (EP) titled, Voice of the East (V.O.T.E).

An impressive collection of five tracks, each crafted carefully, the singer continues to impress her fans with her unique sound and compelling lyrics. As a deliberate nod to her self-ascribed identity to unleash the power of the South East, the culturally appealing sounds scored a great point from the choice of the title.

The new project comes after her debut EP, Piece Of Me, which provided a fascinating look into the thrilling and wide-ranging future of her career and exceptional talent. It features an array of captivating melodies including tracks such as Isimgbaka, Uwa, Ogo M, and Ezi Enyi.

Drawing from her earlier showcases of rapping prowess in tracks like Do You Really Like Me and No Wahala, Ugoccie solidified her position by seamlessly blending Igbo language into her messages.

Just like her debut, V.O.T.E demonstrates her artistic prowess and once again exhibits her distinctive identity that projects and extols praises of the richness of African culture, particularly the Igbo culture from the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

The EP features noteworthy guest appearances from Onitsha-born siblings, Umu Obiligbo, adding an extra layer of brilliance to the project with the kind of production provided by Endeetones (Beatlord).

On the inspiration behind the EP, Ugoccie remarked, “it is an intentional storytelling project that adds a new dimension to my music, with purposeful melodies. It draws inspiration from real-life events and narratives, as well as my fondness for storytelling from childhood and my deep connection to culture.”

“Drawing inspiration from icons like Onyeka Onwenu, Celestine Ukwu, and others, my music brings a refreshing vibrancy to the Eastern scene of the Nigerian music industry. I want them to recognize the stories, the artistry, and the purpose behind each song,” she said.

Expressing optimism on the potential impact of the EP, Ugoccie added, “every melody is meticulously crafted for a specific purpose, and I want audiences to perceive the beauty and intentionality in my music, challenging norms and stereotypes. Each track is designed to resonate deeply with the listener, offering a truly enriching auditory experience.”
