The General Overseer, Champions for Christ Chapel, Asaba Delta State, Rev. Samuel Akpan-Isong, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s government, saying that his policies are hurting the poor masses, even amid abundant natural resources.

Akpan-Isong told The Guardian in Asaba, yesterday, that it is shocking to see how the country is run, considering how it is moving several steps backwards.
While accusing the President of running the country aground, he noted that it is hard, these days, for Nigerians to put food on the table due to the current level of inflation.

He said: “The way Tinubu came to power is the way we see him, and what is happening around him. I’m praying that things might work well with him, because Nigeria, in the past year, has been bleeding.

“In the past year, the problem of insurgency and other things are staring us in the face.”

“This time around, people no longer trust themselves. Yes, President Muhammadu Buhari is better than Tinubu, and I say so because the fuel subsidy that brought us here would have been removed gradually and not the way it happened.

“The President and those in government are not feeling the pain, because they are on government sponsorship, the food they eat, the car they drive and other benefits. The masses are the only ones suffering. I can tell you it is biting very hard, to the extent we are now contributing money to feed church members.”
