President Bola Tinubu will address the nation in a broadcast on the occasion of Democracy Day at 7 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

This was announced on Tuesday in a statement by a spokesman to the President, Ajuri Ngelale.

“Television, radio, and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to plug into the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast.

The federal government has, meanwhile, declared Wednesday a public holiday to commemorate this year’s democracy day.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, Tuesday in Abuja.

The minister who congratulated Nigerians on the occasion, said the celebration is a moment of reflection for the nation on the democracy journey thus far.

“As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful, and indivisible entity,” Tunji-Ojo said.
