Timi Alaibe, former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC), is on the block again, following the massive support he is enjoying from his party faithful, regarding his dream to govern Bayelsa State.
Further dig confirmed that the party could be comfortable with his candidature to slug it out with Governor Seriake Dickson.
There are strong indications that he may pick the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) ticket for the plum job, if all things work out according to plan.
To this end, he has been holding series of meetings with some party stalwarts.
His supporters believe Alaibe is the good for the job because of his success in the region.
His competence at the commission transformed him into a rallying point of the youth, women and elders in state and Niger Delta (South-South region) and even at the international level, where he ceaselessly championed the cause of the Niger Delta people.
Alaibe, before taking up the NDDC job, was a banker of repute. He served as vice president of the Cosmopolitan BancShares in 1994 and later general manager, Corporate Banking and Investment at the defunct Societe General Bank.
