Suswam Preaches Peace And Tolerance

BENUE State Governor, Gabriel Suswam on behalf of the Government and people of Benue State, has felicitated with the entire Christian community on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations.

The governor urged Christians to imbibe the lessons of Easter when Jesus Christ resurrected in glory three days after paying the supreme sacrifice for the salvation of humanity.

Similarly, Suswam, who sees Nigeria rising to greatness following the toils of its people over the years; urged Christians to use the period of Easter to pray for the peaceful and successful conduct of the remaining general elections and the subsequent handover of power on May 29.

He commended Christians and indeed, the entire people of Benue state, for their peaceful conduct during last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections and urged them to extend same to the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections coming up on April 11.

He observed that though Jesus Christ had the power to challenge those who crucified him, he refrained from exercising that power, instead he entrusted his fate to the Almighty Father.

The governor also advised the people not to take laws into their hands in the face of provocations, especially during this election period, but to follow due process and rule of law in seeking redress.
