Superbike Clubs Association visits Tourism Minister, seek collaboration on annual convention

The executives of the Superbikes Clubs Association of Nigeria (SCAN), led by its President, Mr Hussaini Misari, has paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Lola Ade-John, at her office in Abuja.


This was contained in a statement signed by SCAN president, Hussaini Misari and made available to journalists said the purpose of the visit was to inform the Minister about the upcoming SCAN’s annual convention under the theme: “The Gathering” which will take place in Abuja from 1st to 4th November 2024.

“The SCAN President complimented the Minister and thanked her for the opportunity to confer with her and to seek her collaboration being that Tourism is the major focus of “The Gathering” event. The event will showcase Nigeria’s rich food culture at a food fair, medical charity where the group will be donating 100 wheel chairs to persons with disability and 2 ambulances will be donated to wounded Soldiers of the Nigerian Army and also offer free medical tests and treatment.


“Also, the program will also include the Abuja City Marathon to raise awareness against sickle cell, and will end with a Culture Costumed Gala & Award Night.

“The Minister expressed her excitement and encouraged SCAN to continue promoting Nigeria’s Tourism. “She also assured of the Ministry’s support to make the 2024 SCAN National Convention a
Success. The event aimed at promoting the potential of Tourism and culture in Nigeria later this year will attract over 1000 bikers across Africa and Europe,” Misari said.


Meanwhile, chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Ibitayo Taiwo, during his remarks revealed that over 1,000 bikers from 25 countries across Africa and Europe are expected to grace the event which will showcase culture, tourism and entertainment.

He also assured the Minister of the firm support of the biking community in collaborating with the Ministry to continually promote Tourism in Nigeria.

In her closing remarks, the Minister, Mrs Lola Ade-John, expressed her excitement on the initiative and promised to use the event to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural potential.
