Stop bickering, seek end to crisis, Ekiti PDP tells Fayose, others

Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose.

The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) stakeholders in Ekiti State have called on leaders of the party, especially the former governor, Ayodele Fayose, to stop bickering, close their ranks and form a strong force ahead of the governorship election in 2026.

The stakeholders’ admonition is coming barely 24 hours after the former governor and his group, Osoko Family, reiterated their support for the second term bid of the state governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, which took place in Lagos on Monday.

Notable leaders of the party, which came together under the umbrella of Ekiti Coalition of PDP Stakeholders, urged the warring tendencies in the lingering crisis besetting the party, both at the state and national levels, to bury their hatchets and give peace a chance in the interest of the party.

In a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting held in Ado-Ekiti and signed by 50 members, which was read by the PDP former State Publicity Secretary, Jackson Adebayo, the stakeholders said that it was time for all the leaders to come together and dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.

They passed a confidence vote on the PDP State Working Committee (SWC) under the chairmanship of AgboolaAlaba, while calling on all members of the party to support his resolve to rebuild the party ahead of future elections.
