Nigerian artist, REEPLAY acronym for (Raw Evolved Energy Playing Loud All Year) is set to release a new track ‘Show Must Go On’ that is bound to set a new tone for Nigerian HipHop. On this project, Reeplay has teamed up with CASH‘N’OUT and 2024 is promising to be an exciting year for the MC.
On his continual rise in the Nigerian music scene, Reeplay, continuous gem, emotive vocals over cool drum kicks accompanied with strings-heavy sounds which brings his lyrical prowess to the fore, makes him continually rise in the Nigerian music scene.
“SMGO” is the lead track of the eagerly anticipated mixtape “Year of the underdogs” curated by Cash‘N’Out . The song about pushing on despite dire circumstances is an ode to the plight of the everyday Nigerian.
“Show Must Go On’’ came about when I met Abiz from Cash‘N’Out and we linked up to collaborate on a few tracks. ‘SMGO’ was one of the first tracks we made together during a trip to Ghana. The lyrics took inspiration from my recent experience just tapping into the energy at hand in my beloved country today without preaching, also from conversations meeting new folks.
According to him, the track was produced by Jay Poppin. The heart of this track is all about the hook which is a call from me to the listener/audience.
Born Jibril Adeiza Omaki, professionally known as Reeplay, is a Nigerian rap artist and songwriter from Abuja (Nigeria Capital City), he alongside Odumodu Blvck are leading members of the rap crew Anti World Gangstars.
