A loud Mega Street Praise was held in Egbeda area of Lagos to celebrate the birthday of the Area Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Rock of Ages, Lagos Province 38, Mayor Sylv-Kadiri.
The Mega Street Concert tagged: “50 Alleluyah” was meant to celebrate the pastor who clocked 50 last Monday. Speaking about the concert, the celebrant, Pastor Sylv-Kadiri said: “I’m celebrating God’s goodness in my life, we have to do this because God has been there through thick and thin for me.
“We are doing it on the street because I never knew God would spare my life till this moment. Coming from a polygamous home, I could have been an armed robber or area boy but God spared my life, and picked me from the street.
“I just consider giving Him praise on the street each year He spares my life to celebrate my birthday. This idea was conceived last year and this is the second edition.
“I’m using this opportunity to inform people that the same God, who brought me out of the street and kept me for five decades is still available for anyone irrespective of what they might be going through.”
He stated that he won’t go to Ikoyi or Victoria Island to hold the concert, adding that luckily for him, he pastors a parish located in a real street in Egbeda, Lagos.
The praise concert was not just about dance and offering of praises to God, participants also went home with prizes and gifts. Numerous popular gospel artists were on hand to lead the participants with offering praises to God, and they included Evangelist J. A. Adelakun (Baba Ayewa), Shade Osoba, Michael Akingbala, Shade Odetunde, Funmi Sax, Imole Ayo, Omo Akin Jesu, Sijuade, Lovely Eunice and many more.
