Last Thursday, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the full reopening of the Third Mainland Bridge after extended repair works had been completed.

Sanwo-Olu announced this in a statement on X, saying that he is pleased with the repair works on the bridge as it will ensure its safety and efficiency for all residents of Lagos.

The governor, however, warned that as Lagosians embrace the smoother journeys that the newly renovated bridge provides, it also calls for a renewed emphasis on road safety.

“Our shared commitment to safety ensures not only our wellbeing but also the wellbeing of other road users. Thank you, Lagosians, for your unwavering support,” Sanwo-Olu said.

The Bridge was closed for some months for repair works to be carried out. The Bridge also has a speed limit which has been set at 80km per hour.
