Digitisation and computerisation of healthcare services at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State has reached 75 per cent completion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, who attained one year in office yesterday, has said.
He told The Guardian that upon completion of the exercise before the end of the year, healthcare services would be accessed online in line with global best practices in healthcare delivery.
On Medicinal Synthetic Aluminum Magnesium Silicate (MSAMS), the medicine that was claimed to cure HIV/AIDS, which was invented by Prof. Maduike Ezeibe of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Iwe said the university will continue to support Ezeibe to continue to do the needful.
He stressed that the university’s decision to support Prof. Ezeibe stemmed from the fact that the MSASMS had reportedly been proven to be effective in the cure of prostate problems.
Speaking on his one year in office, he said 400 hectares of land were cleared for teaching, learning, research and commercial purposes including purchase of modern farm equipment through collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
