Nigeria launches new self-registration module for taxpayer

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced the launch of a new self-registration module on its Tax Administration Solution platform, TaxPro-Max.

This innovation allows taxpayers to now complete all registration processes with FIRS independently in the comfort of their offices or homes, thus saving them time and resources, according to the agency’s chairman, Zacch Adedeji.

Adedeji, in a notice on Monday, said the ongoing reforms aim to ease the doing of business and match our new customer-centric posture with tangible action.

“Every newly registered corporate/business entity assigned a Tax Identification Number (TIN) automatically at the point of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) can now complete their registration with FIRS on TaxPro-Max via www.taxpromax.firs.gov.ng and follow the prompt for self-registration,” Adedeji stated.

He added that the innovative approach to taxpayers’ registration will contribute to a more efficient and transparent tax system, ultimately benefiting both taxpayers and the country as a whole.

The chairman, however, urged taxpayers to take advantage of this new feature while reiterating its commitment to continuous improvement in taxpayers’ experiences.
