The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), has urged the Federal Government to create an enabling environment to boost digital economy in the country.

Speaking in Ibadan at a forum to commemorate the 16th NASFAT Youth Conference tagged: ‘Digital Economy and Youth Entrepreneurship: Breaking New Ground,’ the Conference Chairman, Abdullahi Lasisi, urged the government to equip young individuals with the necessary skills and potential to drive economic growth.

Lasisi said this year’s conference was aimed at providing a platform for young individuals to engage in discussions, gain valuable insights, and equip themselves with essential skills for success in the digital age.

He added that the youth conference would include free medical examinations, community clean up and public awareness campaign on important issues, which could provide mentorship, guidance among others.

“With the rapid transformation of industries worldwide, the conference underscored the importance of the government’s role in creating an enabling environment that supports youth innovation and entrepreneurship.”

NASFAT National Youth Secretary, Kabir Raji, emphasised on the importance of breaking away from old habits and patterns, particularly in the current fragile global economy, where every nation is striving to survive.

He said: “The theme serves as a reminder for all of us to step out of our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives.”
