To enhance learning among primary and secondary school pupils, Learn Africa, a leading publishing firm, has unveiled an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled mobile app to empower learners.

Apart from promoting digital education, the initiative empowers students to take control of their education and offers access to many resources aimed at breaking learning barriers.

The Managing Director of the organisation, Hassan Bala, while unveiling the platform, said the mobile app is an innovation meant to revolutionise teaching and learning.

He described it as a ‘transformative platform’ that brings learning to the palm of learners.

Bala said with a comprehensive array of resources and interactive tools, the app empowers users to effortlessly acquire new knowledge and skills.

He said: “We are expanding learning opportunities for all. Our commitment to education will continue to drive us forward. The app represents innovation and excellence in education. The future is filled with promise where education knows no bounds.

“The app offers a diverse range of educational materials tailored to various learning styles following the Nigerian curriculum. Whether you are a student, professional or lifelong learner, the platform facilitates seamless access to high-quality educational resources,” Bala added.

In his presentation, the content director, Gbola Aiyedun, said the online mobile app is a tool to give easy access to students educational resources at cheaper rates.

Besides, Ayedun said the initiative is aimed at globalising the Nigerian curriculum in such a way that people can access it anywhere in the world, particularly Nigerians in the diaspora, whose wards may want to learn about the country’s values, languages and system of doing things.

Ayedun identified the assessment materials as one of the outstanding features of the app, as it ensures self-examination of learners and prepares them for examinations, including Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

He further added that the app has both online and offline functionality, while featuring a diverse course catalogue and personalised way of learning.

“The app is designed to put the country’s education system on the global stage. It contains resources from primary to secondary school. It is accessible 24 hours every day for learners at a cheap price. Price for basic package is N2,500 per year, while premium package is N5,000 per year for each user,” Ayedun added.

The Chairman of the organisation, Chief Emeke Iwerebon, said the initiative is aimed at bringing modern technology to Nigerians.
With the AI-inspired mobile app, Iwerebon said the firm has tried to make people walk, even before they can crawl.

He said: “AI is the new technology, so, we are providing that new technology for our students. We cannot continue to remain backwards, if students in the United States are using AI, why can’t our students use the same? And why shouldn’t we provide it for them?

“We have started, and as we grow with the students and the economy, we will keep on upgrading our AI, which is the most transformative tool that any student could have. We still have lots of work to do but it’s a good beginning for us. There is going to be quarterly updates and upgrades, making it easier for students,” he added.
