KIA Motors Corp. has unveiled the exterior of the redesigned, sportier 2017 Cadenza luxury car, which is expected to go on sale next year.

The new Cadenza, also known as the K7 in Korea, according to Automotive News has a sharper, more angular look than the 2016 version, a change that is especially prominent in the dip in Kia’s “tiger nose” grille and in other features on the car’s front and rear ends.

Kia said: “The next-generation Cadenza maintains the progressive, contemporary image of the current model, and the sharper more defined lines and wider, lower stance give the new model a modern and thoroughly distinctive new look — with key design elements ensuring the new Cadenza remains recognizable as a Kia.”

Kia stated that the 2017 Cadenza was “inspired by European luxury sedan styling.”

The wraparound LED headlights are thinner and more angular than on thepredecessor. The daytime running lights underneath the headlights also get retouched, as do the fenders and bumper, giving the front of the car a more muscular look.

That “more assertive appearance,” as Kia calls it, also is seen in the vehicle’s rear, with sleeker, thinner taillights and a more angular bumper that’s a significant departure from the rounder bumper of the 2016 model.

Kia teased the redesigned Cadenza earlier this month when it released renderings, including one of the vehicle’s interior.

Recently one of the cars locally assembled Nigeria by Kia Motors Nigeria, emerged winner of the Car of the Year (COTY) award at the 2015 edition of the yearly Nigerian Auto Journalists Award, (NAJA).

The award, which held in Lagos and brought together stakeholders in Nigeria’s auto industry to witness the event as Kia Rio spanked Peugeot 301, Nissan Almera and Toyota corolla to cart away the prize.
