Ihuoma Anurioha, a Nigerian attorney with over 17 years of experience, has emerged as a tireless advocate, dedicating her life to uplifting marginalized communities and promoting social change.

With a passion for serving others instilled in her from a young age, her unwavering commitment to social Justice and community empowerment has led her to make significant contributions both in Nigeria and the United States.

As an attorney, the managing partner of Harmony Solicitors, a law firm in Lagos State Nigeria, Ihuoma has handled a wide range of litigation cases, including commercial, land, and tenancy matters

However, she uses her legal expertise to uplift and empower the most vulnerable members of society.

She founded the Harmony Care and Youth Support Foundation International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting the impoverished and empowering women and youth in Nigeria.

Under Ihuoma’s visionary leadership, Harmony Care has achieved remarkable feats, conducting numerous outreach programs and initiatives that have touched the lives of countless individuals.

From sponsoring empowerment programs and outreaches for vulnerable indigents in society, and organizing career talks and workshops for students, to collaborating with international organizations like The Rescue Mission, Fort Wayne Indiana, in the United States, Ihuoma has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to uplifting communities and fostering positive change. Her generous donation on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2023, to the Rescue Mission made a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness, providing them with hope, support, and essential resources during a critical time.

She is also a member of the African Orphan Educational Foundation (AOEF) Youth Advisory Council.

Recognizing the transformative power of education, Ihuoma has also been actively involved in shaping young minds as a member of the School Management and Board of Governors for St. Stephen’s Nursery & Primary School Igbobi, Lagos State Nigeria. She has also served as the PTA Chairperson of the Federal College of Education (Tech) Staff School, Akoka Lagos where she received an Award of Excellence and recognition of meritorious service for her significant and positive contribution to the growth of the school. Her dedication to the school led to the implementation of various standard projects, including the beautification and renovation of the children’s playground under her leadership.

Ihuoma’s impact extends beyond the confines of her non-profit.

She once served as a respected member of the prestigious Diocesan Synod of the Lagos Mainland Anglican Communion, which is the legislative highest and policy making body of the Diocese, where she contributed significantly to religious and community leadership. Additionally, she has been appointed and currently serves as a Patron of the 5th and 8th Mainland Companies of the Boys and girls Brigade in Lagos Nigeria, further showcasing her commitment to community service and development.

In pursuit of knowledge and personal growth, Ihuoma attained a Master’s degree in Women Studies at Florida Atlantic University where she excelled academically, graduating with distinction as the best student in her class, and continue to make significant contributions to the field.

Her research papers and conference presentations on topics such as “Child Labor: The Human Traffic Exploitation in Nigeria”, “Women Participation in Conflict: The Case of the Biafran War”, “The violence of Gender abuse and Resistance”, “Navigating the Intersections of Identity and Oppression”, and “The sheltering hope: The crucial role of Independent Living Services for Homeless Pregnant Women and New Mothers” have shed light on critical issues affecting women and children in her home country Nigeria, and the United States of America.

Ihuoma’s dedication to empowering women and girls led her to work at Holy Ground PBC, a nonprofit organization in West Palm Beach, Florida, that shelter and mentor homeless pregnant or parenting young women and their children living in Palm Beach County, who are willing to make positive changes in their lives.

She utilizes her expertise in case management, counseling, and client advocacy to assist young women in accessing the necessary support and resources to achieve self-sufficiency and secure permanent housing.

Looking to the future, Ihuoma aspires to establish a nonprofit organization in the United States that provides legal assistance and education programs to vulnerable girls and young women facing issues such as domestic violence, and homelessness. Her vision is to create a platform that empowers and uplifts marginalized women and girls, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.
