Georgetown varsity pledges support for Abia youths

Georgetown University Business School, United States, has promised to partner with Abia State in its youth development and empowerment programme, which aims at helping the youths to develop their talents and also learn life-enhancing skills.

A delegation of the university, who came into Nigeria last week, also promised to provide opportunities for youths and other stakeholders through grants for the building of essential infrastructure for development.


Speaking during a visit to the U.S. Embassy in Lagos, the Georgetown University Business School delegation led by Mr. Omar Wilson and Ms. Mika Rhabb, enumerated how the life-changing project would benefit Abia youths.

The delegation announced the provision of a grant for the building of infrastructure for youth empowerment, while the parties agreed to continue discussions on other areas of assistance.

The delegation’s visit to the embassy was part of the weeklong working tour of the country’s entertainment industry.

At the meeting with the Georgetown University delegation were the U.S. Consul General, Will Stevens; Tein Jack-Rich, convener of United Abia Artistes and Patriots, Ambassador Osita Offor, media personalities, Efe Omoregbe, Felix Awogu and Olisa Adibua.
