The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission has called on President Bola Tinubu to tackle insecurity headlong and put more money into rural access roads to reduce the rate of inflation in the country.

Director-General of DAWN Commission, Seye Oyeleye, made the appeal during a chat with The Guardian on the sidelines of the 60th birthday celebration of a University of Ibadan (UI) security scholar, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu, and the launch of his memoir, which took place at the UI Alumni Centre, Ibadan.

Oyeleye said he had known Aremu for the better part of the last 30 years, saying that the professor epitomised diligence, integrity and dedication, which must be emulated by the younger generation.

On her part, the Ekiti State First Lady, Dr Olayemi Abiodun-Oyebanji, who described Aremu in glowing terms, said his name was synonymous with excellence, accommodation, commitment and scholarship, maintaining that the younger generation should also imbibe those virtues.

The celebrant, Aremu, said he would be more dedicated to God and humanity.
