The Rotary Club of Surulere North-East, District 9110, has renovated 10 toilets at the Adeniji Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos.

Speaking at the commissioning of the District Grants Project, the District Governor nominee, Lanre Adedoyin, who represented the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110 comprising Lagos and Ogun states, Rita Ejezie, said the execution of the project was a collaborative effort of both the district and the club that addressed three, out of Rotary seven areas of focus, was carried out and the District grant judiciously spent.

He charged the beneficiaries to maintain the project to attract future intervention whenever the need arises.

The President of the club, Matthew Ohonba, said the facility was provided based on the need assessment conducted.

“The school’s 10 toilets were in a very bad state and we had to seek for counterpart fund in the name of District Grants from District 9110 and were obliged with about N640,000.00.”

“However, due to the large volume of the project as a result of unbudgeted expenses during its execution, the club had to contribute more money to finish the project.

“We expect the school management to ensure proper usage of the facility” he said.

The  School Manager, Mrs. Constance Emeh assured adequate maintenance of the toilets and expressed appreciation.
