The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) Ogun State Branch has achieved a historic first by being named the Best Branch at the institute’s 55th Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
This recognition follows a year of outstanding performance by the Ogun State Branch, which was evaluated by the institute’s Institutional Development Committee and subsequently approved by the Governing Council. The branch impressed with its leadership, innovation, and dedication to member development.
The Branch’s success stemmed from several key initiatives. They focused on strengthening existing chapters and establishing new ones, expanding their reach within the community. They also offered numerous free professional development courses, attracting increased participation and corporate sponsorships.
Furthermore, the branch embraced digital transformation by creating a robust website and a suite of digital tools, enhancing the member experience in areas like event planning and communication. They prioritized member engagement by setting up a dedicated Member Support Center. They also launched “Innovora Magazine,” a publication exploring advancements in human resource management and digital transformation.
Their commitment extended to the community through career fairs, institutional visits, and new member drives. These efforts resulted in over 150 new members and collaborations with prominent institutions. The branch is also working towards acquiring land for an international conference center and a multifunctional secretariat in Abeokuta.
The Branch Chairman, Engr. Sean Olabode Badiru, expressed his gratitude following the award. “I give thanks to God for the opportunity to make history,” he stated. This monumental achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering support of our esteemed members. Their contributions have been invaluable, and together, we have reached new heights.” He urged members to maintain the momentum and strive to retain their position as the institute’s best branch.
