Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Tyler Rake in “Extraction 2,” and it was an obvious decision to bring him back for the sequel.
The first installment, released in 2020, became the most-watched Netflix original at the time, and Chris acknowledged that they had something special while filming it, as he mentioned in an interview with Access Hollywood.
During the production of the first film, they began to realize the uniqueness of their creation. As Chris recounted at the “Extraction 2” New York premiere, Netflix reviewed all the footage and suggested keeping the character alive. Initially, the original script had concluded his story.
However, it was the fans who played a pivotal role in the development of “Extraction 2.” Chris expressed gratitude for their response and enthusiasm, feeling a sense of duty to deliver a sequel that surpasses the first one in terms of scale and quality.
The stakes are significantly raised in the sequel, with the Australian actor showcasing his impressive stunt skills.
At one point, he even finds himself engulfed in flames. Chris confessed that it was the most exhilarating and enjoyable experience he has had on set, despite it being terrifying and exhausting.
“Extraction 2” will be available for streaming on Netflix starting June 16th, offering fans a thrilling and immersive adventure.
