As the nation celebrated this year’s National Children’s Day yesterday, some notable Nigerians have extended their goodwill messages to the Nigerian children.
In this vein, the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, yesterday, called on parents and guardians to nurture, educate and empower their children to reach the zenith of their potential.
While stressing the need for collective efforts towards ensuring their welfare and well-being, Guwor, in a goodwill message to parents and children during the National Children’s Day celebration, said that the event reminds Nigerians of the boundless joy and hope that children bring into their lives and the society at large.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nkem Nwaeke, extended his greetings and best wishes to every Nigerian child.
He described children as the greatest treasure and the future architects of society, saying that it is a collective responsibility to ensure a promising and brighter future for them.
Also, the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has assured children in the state of his administration’s commitment to develop and drive children-friendly policy programmes.
In a statement to mark the 2024 Children’s Day celebration in Calabar, signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nsa Gill, yesterday, the governor said that the policies would include creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for future generations.
He urged the children to continue to dream big and work hard towards achieving their goals.
Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, yesterday, urged children to become worthy ambassadors for their families, communities, Edo State, and the nation.
In a goodwill message issued by his media team in Benin City, Ighodalo emphasised the importance of raising children with the awareness that they represent their families and the larger community.
On her part, Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko, extended her heartfelt congratulations to every Nigerian child, urging them to focus on their studies.
