Another aide resigns from Ishaku’s government

Governor of Taraba, Darius Dickson Ishaku

There seems to be no end to the number of Special Advisers (SAs) resigning their appointments from Governor Darius Ishaku’s administration.

Daniel Gani, yesterday, joined the league of aides that had so far thrown in the towel, The Guardian gathered.

Gani, who tendered his resignation letter through the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Anthony Jellason, has also announced his decision to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with The Guardian on the phone, yesterday, Gani said his resignation and defection became necessary, for him to move forward.

Paying glowing tribute to the late Mama Taraba, Sen. Alhassan Jumai Aisha, whom he described as his political mentor, Gani disclosed that Mama Taraba influenced his resignation, which occurred few days after that of Sale Ahmadu.

Even when Gani did not lucidly state reasons behind his decision to dump Ishaku, who is reportedly eyeing Taraba South senate seat next year, The Guardian scooped that his decision to defect followed the defection of former Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha.

At the time of filing this report, several political appointees, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, have reportedly concluded plans to ditch the PDP for the APC, claiming to have their letters of resignation ready
