Akwa Ibom council empowers constituents

Chairman of Ini council of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Israel Idaisin, has empowered his constituents with 15 minibuses, bags of rice, and cash gifts to mark the 30th-anniversary celebration of the creation of the council.

While thanking God for his benevolence on the people of Ini, the council boss said the creation of the council has brought development closer to the people of the area, adding that it became necessary to use the event to honour and reward the citizens that achieved outstanding success in different walks of life.


He said: “Indeed, our beloved Ini Local Government Area is 30 years old today. I thank you all for believing in my administration and the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel. We are here to celebrate ourselves as a united force, and to reward and honour our distinguished citizens, who have achieved outstanding success in various walks of life and disciplines as well as to empower our supporters for their various contributions.”

The council boss identified some of the projects recorded so far under his tenure as the construction of a civic centre at Ikot Ekiko, construction of classroom blocks and council buildings, among others.
