Adebayo seeks N15 million for kidney transplant

A MIDDLE-AGE man, Osagbemi Adebayo, is soliciting N15 million for kidney transplant. Adebayo, who walked into The Guardian with his wife,  said he has been fighting a chronic kidney disease stageV, which is secondary to hypertensive nephrosclerosis, for three years, which he has been going for dialysis instead of transplant and treatment due to lack of funds.

According to the medical report from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Hospital (LASUTH), Osagbemi was first seen at the Nephrology clinic on July 19, 2019, on the account of high blood pressure increasing nocturia and derange creatinine levels.  He was found to be pale with PCV of 27.3per cent and WBC of 900/ul.
  
The report further revealed that the electrolyte urea and creatinine were also deranged with a creatinine of 922 micromol/litre and an abdominopelvic scan on 6/8/12 was suggestive of medical renal disease.

  
“A diagnosis of chronic kidney disease stage V secondary to hypertensive nephrosclerosis was made.      
 
“He has been on haemodialysis, but due to financial constraints, he has been inconsistent.

Adebayo who hails from Kwara State and lives in Shogunle, Lagos said he has been going for frequent dialysis and he has spent all he has.
       
The father of three said he has visited several hospitals for dialysis including Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and Dialyzer specialist medical centre at Arowojobe Street, Oshodi, Lagos. He further lamented on how he has spent a lot begging for financial help from people in order to go for dialysis twice a week at the cost of N40,000 per session.
