Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has empowered 33,000 women and vulnerable persons with a N500 million social support programme.
According to him, each of the beneficiaries is to get a business take-off grant and monthly stipend of between N10,000 and N50,000.
Unveiling the scheme in Yola, the governor said: “The 10, 000 women were selected from the 21 Councils of the state.”
He expressed the hope that most of the women that acquired training skills and trades would be better off with the support to raise their capital base.
“We’re opening new economic empowerment corridors in our commitment to fight poverty and unemployment among vulnerable persons and women,” Fintiri said.
