The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, disclosed this, when the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Dr. Aminu Ado, visited him.
He explained that the institution had established its presence in Dubai early last year when its Distance Learning Centre (DLC) partnered stakeholders in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attract eligible candidates for e-learning.
The university, having established itself as a leading institution in modern open distance learning and e-learning, he added, launched its internationalisation project in the United Kingdom (UK) last year to attract foreign students and qualified Nigerians in the Diaspora.
Ado was in ABU, in company of the Bursar, Abubakar Gafai; and Librarian, Dr. Ukashatu Musa, to study ABU DLC, with a view to replicating it at FUDMA.
Bala further disclosed that ABU was already in partnership with International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (ICHEI) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) for capacity building in the area of digital education.
According to him, in the next 10 to 20 years, learning processes would be digital globally.
The VC appreciated the initiative by FUDMA to learn from ABU DL experience, stressing: “The more education you have, the better.”
